Our Credit Score Guide will Teach you everything you need to know about Credit Scores
Credit Scores are based on history
The amount your credit score is affected by different items on your credit report is debatable. The credit bureaus are not going to give away the secrets of how the derive your credit score from your credit history data. However there is no reason to turn this into science. The fact of the matter is that good credit will get you a good score and bad credit wont. Positive credit affects your score positively. Negative credit affects your score negatively. If you have never missed a loan or credit card payment and you have never had any public records or collections, you probably have a very good credit score. If all your credit cards are maxed out and you just bought a car and a house, even if you have never missed a payment, your credit score might not be very good. If you have a lot of ‘bad debt’ (that is debts gone bad from non-payment or late payments or bills you never paid that became collections) then your score is also going to be bad.
In the following sections of our Credit Repair Guide we are going to break down your credit score and provide you with everything you need to know about credit scoring.
