Don’t let your paid collections keep your credit score down. You might think that since they show up as paid on your credit report that they are no longer affecting your credit score. This really isn’t the case since they factor into your overall credit profile. More often than not, your paid collections have a negative ‘rating’ on them. Since the collections are paid, they are super easy to get removed when you do credit repair. You don’t want to make a specific dispute about the collection. Simply dispute it with a general credit dispute letter. You simply want to say that you don’t think the items is reporting accurately. If the collection is paid but still has a bad rating on it, this would be a completely true thing to say. After all, how can something that is paid still have a negative rating. If you look closely at your credit report you will find that your paid collections most likely have this negative rating. When you dispute a paid collections it does not benefit the collector to confirm the account since you no longer owe them anything. They have disputes to deal with were people really do owe them money and they are much more concerned about validating those disputes. When your paid collections are deleted, you will see a rise in your credit score. It is my opinion that 85% of what credit repair companies get deleted is paid collections because they are so easy to get deleted and they have a greatly positive impact on your credit score. So… dispute them!
