The Credit Bureaus: Why are they messing up my life?
Credit Bureaus compile information distributed to them by financial institutions and use this information to give you a ‘grade’ or a ‘credit score’. The score you get from the credit bureaus gives lenders a way to judge your financial ability and it helps lenders to decide if they want to do business with you. Of course, there is no way for this ‘credit score’ to take your life into account. It doesn’t know your difficulties and it doesn’t even know if the information on your credit report is accurate. That is the real kicker. By law, you are entitled to a credit report that is 100% accurate with no exceptions. The problem is these credit bureau monsters are too big. The left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing.
The Credit Bureaus Don't Know
Creditors don’t even know if all the data they are reporting is accurate. The credit bureaus don’t really care if the data is accurate because they are just the data middle man. The worst part is that they don’t care until you make them care, this is a crucial part of doing self credit repair. Credit Bureaus won’t fix anything until you call them to the carpet to get their information in order. We are going to cover all this and more in this chapter.
